Blessin Giraldo

You may recognize her as the breakout star from the 2017 award-winning documentary, STEP, but since her small-screen debut, Blessin Giraldo has continued to be a revolutionizing force. She’s a dancer, an activist, an artist, a big-thinker, and so much more. Currently pursuing a degree at NYU, Blessin has big dreams for the future and knows how to make them happen too. Keep an eye out-- we're confident she'll be taking the world by storm soon.

Stepping was so amazing to me because not only are you performing but you're creating the beat. You need no beat, you need no music...you are the music.

[As a STEP team], we didn't want to just entertain, we wanted to educate. It was a sense of sisterhood and community that was created from being with each other so much.

Being confident in your own skin is something everyone has to work at, especially women. In society, a lot of people tell us there's only one particular way to look, act, dress, feel, exude. It took me a lot of time but by my senior year of high school, I was definitely feeling myself.

The best advice I've received is that 'rent is due each day and that leads to owning it.' That's how you have to think about success—it's putting in the work each and every day and eventually you will get that good final product.
