You are the voice behind our recent campaign video with your song “What You Want” —tell us about the process behind recording this infectious song and video?
It was one of the most fun processes I’ve had to date! I really enjoyed myself. Plus, it was the middle of summer I felt like it was the perfect fun upbeat song to go with the campaign!
What musicians/artists do you look up to?
Some of my favorite artist are mostly Jazz and Neo Soul artists. I love Jill Scott, India Arie and Sade just to name a few. I really hope to change up my style of music to something similar to that. They are so talented and inspirational.
What’s next for you in terms of music? How has YouTube and social media influenced what you do in your music career?
I plan on having an EP by the top of the year in 2018! I’m very excited to put out more music. Social media has really influenced me to just go for it when it comes to my music. I've seen so many people push themselves and aren't afraid to be themselves. So it has inspired me to do the same.
You recently moved to Los Angeles—what surprises you most about your new home? What do you miss most about Florida?
LA has always felt like a second home to me. It surprises me how much I have accomplished in such a short amount of time! It’s a great place to network and meet new people. What I miss most about Florida is my family and friends.
You’ve reviewed HUNDREDS (if not thousands!) of beauty products on your YouTube channel—if you had to use only a few products for the rest of your life, what would they be?
My top products would be Biore charcoal face wash, Fenty Beauty Pro Fil’tr Foundation, Mac Fix+ Setting Spray and Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick “Sandstorm”
Is there something that would surprise people about the process of creating so many amazing YouTube videos?
How much effort it takes to get that perfect lighting! It takes a lot of work and time. Once you master that, you are gonna have some quality looking videos!
What outfit makes you feel the most like yourself?
Sweats! Super comfy. I LIVE my life in sweats.
You recently attended New York Fashion Week—what were some of the highlights?
The biggest highlight was going to the Fenty Beauty Launch. It was a cool experience. I got to see Rihanna in real life so that was cool as well!
What is the number one thing people ask you when meet followers IRL?
Most of my followers/supporters ask for pictures! I love doing it! It's a cool memory to have for me. Just meeting new people who like what you do is a cool feeling.
Who is your ultimate denim icon?
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in their denim outfits back in 2001 for the American Music Awards.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
I hope to reach all the goals I set for my music career.
