Who is your denim icon?
For sure Rihanna, anything on her looks insane.
What are the most important qualities you look for in a member of your #GOODSQUAD?
I look for loyal people & people who are confident & can always make me laugh. I think two people constantly building each other up is the best type of friendship. People who can come together & expand each other's mind. I'm very attracted to growing and living my life to the fullest, I enjoy people who aren't mainstream and are individually themselves & like to go out to be different and try different things—the crazier, the better. Anyone who is real will gladly be accepted into my squad.
What has been your ultimate career highlight so far?
There have been a few moments I'm very proud of—having two Vogue covers in one month, working with CR Fashion Book & FOR SURE Good American campaign, duh. It was an honor to even be apart of this project & represent such a strong beautiful message of confidence & that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
Tell us about your app – what do you hope to achieve with it?
My app is very new and I'm very proud of the platform / brand and opportunities it opens up for me. So far I post exclusive content of myself, for example: working out videos, my favorite songs, what I eat in a day, outfit of my day, and BTS of my shoots. I share stuff on the app I don't share on my other social media platforms. Downloading my app means you're getting a lot more personal with me than you have before. Eventually I want my app to start a brand for myself and I want to create my own clothing line and make up brand but I'm certainly not going to rush into it until I have the foundation I need to make it the best I can. This is only the beginning for me.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
EVERYTHING. I fully believe that if you give 100% of what you have to something you believe in, you will accomplish it. I'd rather let you guys see what's going to happen than me talk about it. At the end of the day, I want to always be happy and always know I'm giving my all. I want to inspire others and get involved in many charities & take over the industry.
As a model, you travel a TON – where is one place you are dying to go?
So many places. I'm obsessed with traveling. For sure Greece (Mykonos) is top on my list.
What’s one item that every girl should have in her wardrobe?
An oversized denim jacket goes with every look and completes it.
What was it like working with Ellen von Unwerth? She’s a legend!
She is INCREDIBLE! She is honestly the funniest person. She gets the shot so fast and when you're on set with her, it never feels like work. I feel like I'm in my own mini-movie—honestly, she makes it so much fun where I can be free and be whoever I want. I will always be so grateful to her. She started my career and shot with me when I was only 16. She taught me so much while I'm so young. I am the way I am as a model today because of everything she introduced me to. Her talent blows my mind, her creativity and direction is one of a kind. I look up to her in so many ways—an amazing woman who I'll always love!
What does a ‘good American girl’ mean to you?
A beautiful heart. I think anyone who has the beauty inside shines through to the outside. Looks don't mean a thing if your heart is ugly.
You’re bi-coastal – what’s that like? If you had to pick just one city to live, where would it be?
I love being bi-coastal. It's two completely different cities that offer completely different things. I appreciate both for what they are. I prefer LA because I LOVE the sun & ocean but when I'm ready to get away from LA, New York is the perfect place to go. I can never ever get tired of the city lights and rush I get when I'm there.
You and your BF are GOALS. How did you two meet? How do you balance both of your busy schedules and keep the romance alive and well?
Hahaha he's the best. I actually didn't know him at all, just knew of him. My friend, Bryant, randomly invited him to lunch one day and then invited us both to Disneyland and we both went—so random! It all kinda started there with our horrible flirting hahahaha. We're both super busy but if you love someone you will make it work. Supporting each other is key no matter what, growing together & individually. I'll always be there for him and he'll always be there for me, I know that. I see him a lot after work & on our off days. We're very supportive to each other & our love & passion stays alive naturally.
You’re always on the go – do you have any go-to workouts? Any health tips & tricks you swear by?
YES! I go to Soul Cycle & Rumble Boxing as much as I can. I swear it's like going to church—I come out feeling like a new woman who can take on anything—& occasionally a hike or a run. I also eat VERY clean. I don't really go out and try new foods, which I know I should but I stick to broccoli, avocado and my salad at Sweetgreen (of course add Sriracha).
